Asymptotic optimality of twist-untwist protocols for Heisenberg scaling in atom-based sensing

چکیده

Twist-untwist protocols for quantum metrology consist of a serial application (1) unitary nonlinear dynamics (e.g., spin squeezing or Kerr nonlinearity), (2) parameterized $U(\ensuremath{\phi})$ collective rotation phase space displacement), and (3) time reversed step 1. Such are known to produce states that allow Heisenberg scaling experimentally accessible estimators $\ensuremath{\phi}$ even when the nonlinearities applied times much shorter than required Schr\"odinger cat states. In this work, we prove that, asymptotically in number particles, twist-untwist provide lowest estimation error among utilize two calls weakly evolution readout involving only first second moments total operator $\stackrel{P\vec}{n}\ifmmode\cdot\else\textperiodcentered\fi{}\stackrel{P\vec}{J}$. We consider following physical settings: all-to-all interactions generated by one-axis twisting ${J}_{z}^{2}$ interacting Bose gases), constant finite range spin-spin distinguishable bosonic atoms trapped ions Rydberg atoms, lattice bosons). these settings, further show optimal achieve 85% 92% respective Cram\'er-Rao bounds. protocol can be decreased factor $L$ without an increase noise measurement if noiselessly iterated as layer alternating ansatz.

Asymptotic Optimality in Sampling-based Motion Planning

Although one of the fundamental problems in robotics, the motion planning problem is inherently hard from a computational point of view. In particular, the piano movers’ problem [1], [2] is known to be PSPACE-hard, which implies that any algorithm aimed to solve this problem (with completeness guarantees) is expected not to scale well with increasing number of dimensions of the configuration sp...

Asymptotic optimality of likelihood-based cross-validation.

Likelihood-based cross-validation is a statistical tool for selecting a density estimate based on n i.i.d. observations from the true density among a collection of candidate density estimators. General examples are the selection of a model indexing a maximum likelihood estimator, and the selection of a bandwidth indexing a nonparametric (e.g. kernel) density estimator. In this article, we estab...

Twist deformations for generalized Heisenberg algebras

Multidimensional Heisenberg algebras, whose creation a+ and annihilation a operators are the n-dimensional vectors, can be injected into simple Lie algebras g. It is demonstrated that the spectrum of their deformations can be investigated using chains of extended Jordanian twists applied to U(g). In the case of U(sl(N)) (for N > 5 ) the two-dimensional Heisenberg subalgebras H̃ have nine deforme...

Scaling security in pairing-based protocols

In number theoretic cryptography there is always the problem of scaling-up security to a higher level. This usually means increasing the size of the modulus, from, say 1024 bits to 2048 bits. In pairing-based cryptography however another option is available, keeping the modulus constant and increasing instead the embedding degree. This has a big potential advantage in smart-card and embedded ap...
